Azure HDInsight

Azure HD Insight is a Hadoop service offering hosted in Azure that enables clusters of managed hadoop instances. Azure HDInsight deploys and provisions Apache Hadoop clusters in the cloud, providing a software framework designed to manage, analyze, and report on big data with high reliability and availability.

The fully-managed and open source service is based on the Hortonworks Data Platform (HDP) Hadoop distribution and includes implementations of Apache products, including:
Spark,HBase,Storm,Pig,Hive,Sqoop,Oozie,Ambari

Azure HDInsight comes into picture when our data grows exponentially on a daily basis and it becomes difficult to process using on-hand database management tools or traditional data processing applications.

HDInsight enables integration with business intelligence tools like Power BI, Excel, SQL Server Analysis Services and SQL Server Reporting Services. The service’s security measures for data include encryption, monitoring, virtual networks, Active Directory authentication, authorization and role-based access control (RBAC).
